Amelia Bullmore's first stage play (she is an accomplished television dramatist) makes uncomfortable viewing for anyone married with children. Jane and Kev have two girls, aged four and six, who are played by large grown-ups. Their unmarried, childless frien's, Phil and Lorna, lead what seems very desirable lives, unencumbered by children, and when they arrive for a weekend visit it is a time for half-hearted adulteries and catastrophic confessions.
